Tri-Llama House Update

Just a quick note:

So all is well at the Tri-Llam house. Avri and Robin are seniors now. Esther, Analiese and Komei Jr. are still plugging away. Esther gave Avri her virginity in the hot tub, in broad daylight! Analiese misses Seamus, but is glad to have him out of the way, so that she can "make new friends". Robin is trying very hard to fall in love with a professor, Prof. Andrejz something-or-other.

Since Seamus moved out, and there was an opening in the house, Sadie and Seamus' alien half-sister Nova was pledged, and moved into the house. Of course anyone with Donovan blood is automatically accepted into the house, so there was no question. Nova is the first alien on campus, and the first in the greek house, so there's a lot of interest in the house right now, and they have no trouble maintaining their level 6 status. Nova is a freshman knowledge sim, and I believe her lifetime want is criminal mastermind. She's eager to get into the secret society - she's been chatting with every SS member she sees.

After some time to reflect, I've changed my mind about Komei Jr.'s fate. I think that he will move into the hanging garden house after graduation (it is next door to his parents' house) - and Nova will move in with him when she graduates. She'll be knocked up by some random townie, he'll be abducted, and I'll have a cozy little alien domicile in Farlaink. Nova and Komei Jr are very close, so I think that they will enjoy living together. I just can't imagine Nova spending her life with anyone else.

I think that I may change Komei Jr.'s aspiration - I don't think that he is a family sim. I'm not sure WHAT he is, but I know that he's always miserable right now, so the next time I play my goal will be to fix him so that he's not such a douche.

Legacy Update - With a stop off at the Llama Llama Llama House

So yesterday I played my legacy house for the first time in ages, long enough to really get some things going there. I'll do a quick recap, for those of you bored or sad enough to actually be reading these Sims 2 updates:

Gen. 1 - Sean & Dinah Donovan
Gen. 2 - Sadie Donovan (m. Justus Bar), Brother Seamus, Half-Brother Komei Jr. (guess who mom fooled around with?), and alien half-sister Nova.
Gen. 3 - Sadie and Justus' children, Tristan and Tertian Bar

I transistioned Terry to a toddler; Nova to a teen, and then immediately to YA so that she could go to college and fall in love with her not-really-brother Komei Jr. Seamus came home, after a kick-ass party, having graduated Magna Cum Laude in something or other. He has a LTW to be a general, but I put him in the culinary track (level 8!) for now, b/c I always wanted him to be a celebrity chef.

So Komei Jr. invited Nova over from the dorms to the LLL greek house, where Seamus' kickin party was being held, and he WOULDN'T flirt with her. Only friendly hugs and family kisses. GRRRRRRRR! I mean, they aren't listed as family in the relationships panel, so what the heck? I mean, what does it say about a person, when her sims show a more conservative slant on morality than she does herself? I don't get it, and I'm NOT happy. It would have made things so much easier, esp. as I have to breed Nova - I can't let an alien go to waste!

One possibility - Sadie, after reaching the top of the career track (Oh, dad Sean did too - he's a Hall-of-Famer and perma-platinum - my first ever!) in Law Enforcement, switched to the Natural Science career, as a level ten Ecological Guru makes some 10K a day, and only works one day a week. Her LTW is to make $100k, so with that job and some novels, she should do it easily. Anyway, she got the cow plant - I think Komei Jr. is going to go join it for dinner. [hahahahahaha!!!!!!]
I haven't been able to stand Komei Jr. since he was a child - he has 9 nice points, but somehow is a bitch to everyone. I'm afraid he's going the way of the dodo - the family needs some grief, anyway. They're all too damned happy.

Probe Alien Legacy - Take Two

Just wanted to update myself on my Sims game, so that if I stop playing a family for a while, I'll remember what's going on with them! So anyway:

Rex Probe has gone to his just reward, after rising from a 2x3 shack in the Strangetown desert to one of the biggest houses in town, and, thanks to a lucky chance card, $50k! (No, I didn't cheat! I was flabbergasted!). The house has grown outward from that original shack, so is pretty odd looking, esp. with Rex's penchant for a green decor. EVERYTHING is green. He died in platinum, and a beautiful cemetery was created on top of the hill. He haunts his grandson Challenger occasionally, but no one really minds seeing him.

His son via abduction, Mercury ("Merk") Probe, has done well for himself. He went through La Fiesta Tech, graduating with honors and meeting his now - wife, the lovely alien Stella Terrano. They don't work; Merk is a popularity sim, and Stella a knowledge sim. They have three children, two teenage sons (Challenger and Voyager) and a toddler [boy] (Discovery), born only a day before Stella and Merk transitioned to elder. the kids were named after shuttle missions - Merk, and all subsequent alien-abduction children, will be named after celestial bodies, galaxies, and the like.

Challenger and Voyager, are, unfortunately, clones, but I've given them different looks/aspirations. Challenger is a pseudo-goth romance sim, and Voyager a mohawked popularity sim. Not sure what to do with Discovery yet - I'm just glad that he isn't a clone!

I'm trying to get the boys abducted before sending them to college, but so far, no luck. Voy really wants that alien reparations grant, but I'm really wanting to send them through to college and the greek house Merk and Stella founded (the building is built to look like an adobe cliff house - lots of terraces, and no doors - it's really cool!).

Merk was abducted twice, but not impregnated, which made me REALLY mad, as I was hoping for a straight-line abduction legacy. I suppose true alien babies can't be impregnated, but I'll do my best with Challenger, the heir. Voyager and Discovery will be sent to live next door in Spare House, a really cool one-level that looks as though it's buried in the sand.

There are two other families that I've been playing in town. One, a created family in a Maxis house, is the RipRock family, consisting of Jake and Ellia and daughter Loretta. Jake is a buff blond S3 athlete, with a LTW to be a hall-of-famer. Ellia is a family sim, wants to graduate 3 kids from college. Loretta's just a baby, has mom's black hair and S1 skin, Jake's grey eyes. She should be a beauty.

Ajay Loner, a Maxis sim, lives in a cool house I created with a raised living room, an elevator, a fountain garden, a conical roof and big decks. He tried to get abducted his entire adult life (I used maxmotives so he basically never slept or ate), but it didn't happen. He also worked hard to become Chief of Staff, his LTW, but a day before he age transitioned, he was FIRED due to a bad chance card. It was heartbreaking, and he didn't have time to get back in the career track before aging.

He's tried to carry on, but it's a very different life than he had planned. He adopted a fat little S4 child with red hair and dark blue eyes named Bill, and they get along really well - he was worried about having an heir. The FIRST want he rolled as an elder was to woo-hoo - I realized at that point that he was so caught up in his career that he spent his adult life as a VIRGIN! So he called over a new friend, a beautiful college girl(!!) named Abbey (She's in the greek house at La Fiesta Tech). They have a thing going, and he loves her, but he doesn't want to marry her and pull her out of college, esp. as he transitioned green and probably won't live very long.

Bill was desperate for a pet, so after he made straight A+'s for days and Ajay got him into private school, they adopted a kitten, Ned. He's adorable, and Bill loves him very much.

I'm trying to get Ajay to be a werewolf - he's met Bailey, the Leader of the Pack, but I have to get his LTR above 50 before he'll bite, so it will be a while. I hope he makes it.

New Identity

I've just been cast as Ludo Bagman in the Stoatshead Hill RPG on LJ, thanks to pal Inell. I'm very excited, but rather clueless as to where I should begin. I've decided on an actor to pose as Ludo in icon pics - now I believe I'll develop a bit more background before actually jumping into the game. Wish me luck!

Not a normal ship for me, but... *shrugs* you can't fight the muse.

A/N: Like so many of my stories, the plot and setting came to me in a dream. It was so beautiful and heartbreakingly sad, I didn’t want to wake up. But I did, and changed it ‘round just a bit to fit the Harry Potter world. It’s deliberately ambiguous. There will never be more than this one-shot. I know it leaves a lot of questions, but I can’t answer them. Use your imagination to fill in the gaps.

His first impression of the cottage was that it resembled nothing more than an overlarge stump.

He hadn’t been here in nearly five years, so he could be wrong, but he couldn’t remember it looking like this. It had been neat, sparkling, with a perfectly white picket fence surrounding the lawn and prim tulips neatly in beds flanking the door. This house, however…

His trunk was sitting on a cracked stone stoop that joined the house with a front garden that was a riot of color and leaves and blossoms and fireflies. Gnomes were shrieking hysterically as they raced around, trying to catch the beautiful little insects, blinking in the twilight. The path leading from the rounded doorway to the wattle-fence gate was stone, and looked ancient, with moss and tiny flowers growing between the crevices.

The house itself was the size of a two-story cottage, but there the resemblance ended. It was wildly shaped, sort of round, but like a stump, with odd bumps and nooks jutting out everywhere. There were windows in the strangest places, and they were all different shapes, sizes, and colors. The walls appeared to be bark, and the thatch on the roof was some mossy material, hard to distinguish in the twilight. A nearby maple tree appeared to have thrust a couple of large branches right into an upstairs window.

Harry loved it. He just couldn’t remember it. He was sure that he’d remember a house like this.

His trunk was on the front stoop, though, so this had to be the place.

Maybe they’d moved, without telling him.

He walked up to the house, ducking a little as he entered through the hobbity door. The cottage was darker on the inside, but to his right he could see two lumps on a sofa. One tiny, one larger. Harry smiled. Someone was waiting for him.

He knelt down by the sofa and looked at the smaller figure first. Her dark curls were plastered to her forehead with sweat, and she was breathing very softly. He thought that he could take her to bed without waking her.

He lifted her up and started up the roughly hewn wooden stairs. The ground floor appeared to be one large room, so he assumed her nursery was upstairs.

“Dad-“, she yawned hugely and cuddled closer, “Daddy? You here now?”

“Yes, love, I’m here. I’ll put you to bed. I want to talk to your mum.”

“Mummy’s home.”

“I know, darling. I saw her downstairs,” Harry replied. He looked down at his daughter, who was so sleepy that she could barely get the words out without yawning.

“No, you didn’t.”

“Ok, love. Go back to sleep.” Harry pushed open the first door on the right, as it had some crayon artwork on the wall beside it. He gasped softly as he took in the room before him.

The moonlight shone full in through one window, illuminating a thousand sparkling balls on the dark walls and ceiling so that it looked as though the room was full of stars. The other window was dark with tree limbs thrusting through. This was the room he had seen from outside, he realized, and he gazed in awe at the beautiful hammock bed dangling quite close to the floor, hanging in-between the limbs. He placed Dorea in the bed, covering her with a blanket that looked as if it were made from woven autumn leaves, but felt like silk. She smiled and snuggled in, saying again, sleepily,

“’night, Daddy. Mummy’s home.”

“Goodnight, love.”

He made his way softly down the stairs, and kneeled next to the sofa again. The room was very dark, now. He couldn’t see colors or details, just shapes. He pushed the mass of soft hair covering her face out of the way, and kissed her, softly, where he felt her lips should be. She woke slightly, and returned the kiss.

He didn’t remember her kissing like this, either. Not him. This reminded him of…

“You’ve got the wrong house, Harry,” she murmured against his lips.

His eyes opened wide, and he pulled back from the woman on the sofa. She sat up, swinging her legs to the floor, and leaned away from him to light a lamp sitting nearby. He looked at her in silent astonishment.

He had kissed Ginny.

This was Ginny’s house.

“Wha-“ he wasn’t sure that he wanted to know everything yet, so he settled for,

“But Dorea’s here! I just put her to bed.”

“I know. I watch her constantly. Her mum’s always at work. You know how she is. I had an extra room, so I made it into a nursery for Dorea.”

“It’s lovely. The cottage is lovely. Small though. I’d have thought you’d be married with five kids by now.”

“I never married.” Not looking at him, she got up and walked across the room to the kitchen area, her bare feet padding softly against the worn, warm wooden floor, and put a saucepan on the range. Filling it with milk, she called over her shoulder,

“Cocoa? Or do you want to be getting over to Hermione? She should be home by now. We knew you were coming today, when the trunk appeared, so she said she’d be home early. Dor’ said you’d come here, so she wanted me to wait with her on the sofa. I don’t know how that girl knows so much at her age,” she said, shaking her head as she finished her nervous prattle.

“Cocoa?” she said again.

“Er, sure, Gin.” He walked across the room, now filled with a soft indeterminate glow, and looked at the witch standing near the range.

She wore clingy, flowing, pale green robes. A dryad in her tree. Her hair was still long, and red, and slightly frizzy from sleep, but he didn’t know how he’d mistaken her for Hermione, even in the dark.

He’d just assumed... he was home. It felt like home. The trunk was on her doorstep. That was significant.

“Where – uh, where do we live then? The trunk was supposed to go to my home, but I guess I miscalculated. Or maybe it’s because Dorea’s here.”

“She’s here more often than not, Hermione works so much. You have that impossibly neat cottage down the lane. Yellow, with a white picket fence. Your floo-calls arrive in her parlor.”

That would be it. That was Hermione. How he ever thought that she would live here…

“Where’s your floo?”

“Over there,” she said, pointing with her wand to a rounded, crumbly looking fireplace next to the kitchen. A fire sprang up as she waved, crackling happily, and he could see pictures of Dorea and Hermione, himself, Ron, and many other Weasleys waving at him from the mantle.

“Does she ever mention him?” he asked, as she handed him a cup, and leaned back against an old table with her own cradled in her hands.

“No. She pretends as though he never existed. It’s the one thing we fight about.” She smiled ruefully at him, but Harry could see the glimmer of pain in her eyes when she thought about her brother.

“I’m so sorry.”

“It’s alright. We all miss him.”

“No, I mean about-“

“As if you could possibly say in words how you feel about that, Harry.” Suddenly, Ginny sounded bitter and venomous.

“Go home to your wife. I don’t blame either of you. You did what you had to do. She needed you.”

“Did- did you?”

“Do I really have to answer that? It doesn’t matter anymore.” She finished her cocoa in a quick swig and headed upstairs.

“I’m going to bed, Harry. I’ll bring Dor’ over after breakfast. Let yourself out.”

“Ginny?”

“What, Harry?”

“The spell I used to banish my trunk – it’s a homing spell, but a special one. It sends the item to the place where I love most. And am loved most.”

Ginny pivoted on the stair to look at him. She opened her mouth, shut it again, glared at him. There were tears in her eyes.

“Like you said, it's because Dorea’s here. Go home, Harry.”

He watched her walk up the steps, heard her door open and shut.

“I am home, Gin.”

A/N: I realize this doesn't have the best form. I wanted to preserve as much of my dream as I could, so I described the house more than is really necessary for a story this short. I hope you like it anyway... it really was a lovely dream.

Summer Spectacle

“Can you believe he’s an entire year old?” Lily said to her husband, gazing fondly at her chubby son, before turning back to the counter on which she was mixing a birthday cake.

“Yes. Seems to me like he’s been around forever. Ow!” James replied, dodging a swat at the head. He was sitting at the kitchen table, directly behind his wife.

Harry, the child in question, was sitting on the table. He wasn’t sure what the fuss was about. He had only one mission: get those glorious shiny round things off his father’s face and into his mouth. He was sure he could do it, but the big person in front of him kept moving out of reach whenever he grabbed. And James was trying to do that weird belly-farty thing to him again. Grown-ups.

“When do you think he’ll start talking? Alice told me in her last letter that little Neville knows three words already.”

“Well, isn’t he a bloody genius,” said James flippantly. He sounded as if he was sure that his son was just as good as any Longbottom. Probably better.

“James! You can’t talk that way about a baby! Here, taste this batter. What do you think?”

“Mmm. I will show you what I think, Miss Super Chef.”

“Not in front of the baby, love! Why don’t you, um, show me in the other room, yea?” Lily grabbed Harry from the table, plopped him down on the floor, and left the kitchen, James apparently attached to her neck.

Harry heard the usual giggles and tickles and shrieks from the other room. He heard that a lot, but he was usually in his cot and unable to do anything about it. It sounded like fun!

He was about to crawl in and join his mum and dad, when a little flash of light glinting off of the countertop caught his attention. The shiny things! His dad must have left them off when he attacked his mum’s ear earlier.

A short time later, Harry could hear his mum and dad returning.

“…need to get him out of that girl shirt before we take him to Remus’ house anyway, I can do that while you’re baking the cake.”

“You most certainly will not! The Harpies are my favorite Quidditch team. Besides, plenty of blokes like them, too. It isn’t a – how in Merlin’s name did he get up there?” Lily and James stopped still in the doorway to the kitchen, staring open-mouthed at their son, who was sitting quietly on the counter, next to the spoons, his dad’s glasses in his mouth. He turned from looking out the window, took the glasses out of his mouth and smiled at his parents.

Holding up the glasses, Harry said, “Ize."

“Did he just say, ‘eyes’, or ‘nice’?” Lily asked, looking at her husband.

“Probably both, because he’s a genius. And a WIZARD!” James crowed, grabbing up Harry and doing the belly-farty thing before tossing his son in the air. Harry endured this stoically, glasses still in one grubby paw, and even giggled a little. He had observed that giggling made the big people happy. It worked this time, too, because the lady came over, and hugged both Harry and James. Harry noticed that there was water in her eyes.

“I’ll bet super-swot Neville Longbottom hasn’t shown any magical abilities! They’ll have to drop that boy on his big ol’ head to find it!”

“James!” admonished Lily, but she was grinning from ear to ear. “Take our little genius into the library and read him that ‘Happy Little Snidget’ book Sirius bought him. I’ll be along as soon as I pop the cake in.”

“Alright, but I’ll need my glasses back.”

“Squint, love,” Lily said, still smiling. “He’s earned them.”

Finally, Harry thought, as he popped the glasses back into his mouth from his spot on his father’s shoulder. The lengths it took to make grown-ups be sensible!

Tri-Llama House Update

For my own records, and because I haven't updated in ages (I usually use this profile to comment on other LJ pages).

Seamus Donovan just graduated Uni, after getting tipsy and proposing to his Freshman Romance Sim girlfriend, Analiese Riley. She loves college and greek life, has blue hair now, and really didn't want to get engaged, but I'm changing her over to a fortune sim so she'll just have to like it then as Seamus is from a wealthy family.

Avri Shahan is the new Tri-Llam president. He's just completed his Junior year. It seems as though he's been in forever - I think Sadie got him in, and she was the house founder. He's in love with housemate Esther Tse, but wants Robin King, the perky annoying cheerleader, too. c'est la vie.

Komei Jr. Donovan, Seamus' half-brother (same mum, but raised with him) is still bitter about the whole Seamus/Analiese relationship, and still a bit mad at both of them. Unlike most furious sims, though, his relationship points did not end up really high, but really low (towards 0) with both of them. He's always been a pain. I've been making him talk to Nova on the phone, though she's still a child, so that their relationship will build up a bit. I've got to play the main house and send her off to school soon.

We need a replacement for Seamus in the House, preferably a male, and I've created a brother and sister, Isaac and Deena Wilder, who are currently in the posh dorms. I made Isaac for my (RL) sister-in-law's character, as we had to kill her husband character (they just got divorced). Isaac is pretty good looking, and not a red head, so I think he'll be perfect for the frat. All my girls are into redheads and it always makes for trouble with the Donovan boys going through. Luckily (or unluckily) Sadie's sons, Tristan and Tertian, have black hair (and horrible profiles) like their dad, so the redhead streak should end soon. Of course, there is that townie that's been hanging around, whom Analiese is crushing on...could be trouble.

Probe Alien Legacy - Take One

So because of Pixel-and-Bean and Madame-Ugly (and because I'm so sick of my boring-ass legacy town), I decided to play Strangetown. I don't want to mess up any of the premade lots though, so I'm leaving them strictly alone, although I will befriend lot sims that walk by. Well, my Sim will.

So it's a new kind of legacy, and one that I roughly outlined in one of the posts below. My legacy is based on alien abduction.

I made a guy, Rex Probe, oddly handsome, though with huge lips and a hawk-like nose with no bridge between that and his forehead. And he's bald. Awesome. S2, Dark Blue Eyes, Brown hair (on his eyebrows)

He's a knowledge Sim who loves the color green, is neat and serious, and moved to the desert in pursuit of alternate forms of life. I bought him a 5X5 lot, per original legacy instructions, and with the $4800 remaining bought him some green appliances/plumbing etc and a big ol' telescope($2100, so he was(is) not exactly Livin' Large). Got him into the criminal track, per his lifetime want.

Rex had to study the stars for at least 7 sim days before he finally lived up to that last name. He was(is) poor as a church mouse and completely miserable, but those devious suckers up in the sky finally grabbed him and had their way with him.

The result was a (green) son, Mercury Probe (I know, he sounds like a car). Mercury is, bar none, the most adorable Sim I have ever borne in game. He has none of the usual alien quirks except for slightly large alien eyes. He has the roundest ears I've ever seen and a perfect face. He is SO cute. He's got his dad's brown hair. He is maxed on points in Nice, Playful and Outgoing (Though he is very sloppy and lazy). I somehow managed to age transition him to child in platinum (his poor dad is miserable - it's hard raising a kid alone w/ no money). He's even got some points, as Rex could afford to buy him one toy (the little block-knocker thing). He didn't learn to walk until he was a kid, but oh well. He seems pretty happy. Went to bed as soon as he transitioned though, as did Rex, who is always exhausted and starving.

Rex used to hang with the social bunny - he's also seen the SimShrink once and had a chat with Professor VonBall. He's a mess. I honestly can't believe he hasn't died yet, though things should get better now that Merk's a child (how they're going to afford a nanny I do not know).

Next on the agenda? Get the house walled in (oh well, Lincoln started out in a 3-walled shack too), get a better bed for Rex, teach Merk to study. Life goes on. And when Mercury is an adult, he will start looking at the stars as well. No matter how poor the Probe family may be, they'll always have a kick-ass telescope (in their inventory, as I learned my lesson with that damned burglar).

A lot of changes at the house.

Marla (and Komei), Viola, and Edwin have all graduated.

Marla and Viola bought a nice little house, and Marla and Komei were married in a lovely front-lawn ceremony the same day they moved in. Marla is expecting. Viola is still in love with Seamus, but doesn't want to be tied down to anyone, so she'll probably live with the Bendetts and be Auntie Viola for life. She is still very devoted to her art - the largest room was given over to her for a bedroom/studio.

Edwin knocked up Delilah O'Feefe a while ago, right after she graduated and moved into her own place. I stopped playing her at day 2 of her pregnancy, graduated Eddie and moved him into her household. They were married in their underwear in the dirty tiny kitchen at 3 in the morning, with Delilah about to pop! I just liked Edwin's last name better than Delilah's. She had a daughter, named Diana Sharpe.

New house members:

Esther Tse: A sophomore Econ major with a ltw to be mayor. She's in love with Avri Shahan, but who isn't? Not sure what I'm going to do with her. She's a pretty blonde popularity sim. She and Robin King quickly became bff's.

Analiese Riley: One of mine. She's a freshman romance sim, can't remember her major. Her needs never decay - she's been in the house 2 1/2 days now and hasn't eaten or slept.

Her dorm mate, Komei Jr, introduced her to his older brother Seamus and they immediately hit it off, which is how she and Komei (Jr) were invited to pledge. She asked Seamus on a date, and it was dreamy! They are currently in love (even though he's a senior), and woo-hooed in the hot tub. Komei Jr was not pleased, as he had an unrequited crush on Analiese, and is currently furious with her and his brother.

Komei Jr. Donovan - he was a sweet little boy but is kind of a bitter, nasty teen/YA. He's a family sim, I think. I don't recall his major either.

Analiese was his first kiss, in the dorms. They were crushing on each other, but then she went out with his brother and I knew that Komei Jr wouldn't suffice. So, poor Robin King was made to flirt with Komei Jr, destroying Analiese's feelings for him. When Analiese and Seamus broke in the hot tub at Analiese's toga party, the $%!+ really hit the fan! So he's mad at Seamus and Analiese, and she is mad at Komei Jr and Robin King.

Poor Robin. She tries so hard, but she inevitably gets used as a homewrecker/repairwoman (she has 7 mechanical!). She has turn-ons, etc. now. I'm not sure why - they just showed up one day. I think Komei Jr has a crush on her, now, but he is fated for Nova whether he likes it or not. I switched Robin to a family sim, and am trying to hook her up with a handsome young professor. I think they'll be very happy together.

Llama Llama Llama House Update

So whenever I've played this week, I've played the Greek House at Academie La Tour that Sadie Donovan founded during her years there, the Llama Llama Llama House. Current members are as follows, with an update about each after their name.

Marla Biggs (I keep calling her 'Gibbs' - apparently I think she's a BeeGee!) - SS Senior, Family Sim

Marla was an unfortunate looking, plump, incredibly shy SimBinner. She's been in the Tri-Llam since her first day on campus, and it's done wonders for her. She's still shy, but is fit and has had two dream dates (Avri and Komei Bendett, another SS (Secret Society) Sim), was inducted into the Secret Society, and has had two plastic surgery makeovers. The first was a disaster, and she ended up looking like a pig, which was HILARIOUS, but Komei fell in love with her anyway. They are currently engaged. I'm not playing him, so that he will graduate with her (it worked with Sadie and Justus). She was originally a Knowledge Sim, but I changed her aspiration.

Viola Toyonaga (sp?) - SS Senior, Romance Sim

Possibly my favorite NPC of all time, with the exception of Goopy GilsCarbo! She was engaged to Seamus Donovan, but influenced Robin to flirt with him, and even though he rejected her advances, she broke up with him (I think that she was secretly relieved to be out of the engagement). She was furious with Seamus and Robin for a long time, but now is best friends with both. She wants to fall in love with Seamus again (whom is really perfect for her), but I don't want her to break his heart again.

Edwin Sharpe - Junior, Knowledge Sim

Edwin has just always annoyed me, ever since he acted like such a tool about Sadie hugging Justus at her graduation party, ultimately driving her into his (fugly) arms. He's always had the hots for Viola, but she think's he's a douche. I can't blame her. He's still engaged to Delilah O'Feefe, but I don't know if I want to saddle her with his sorry arse.

Seamus Donovan - Junior, Popularity Sim

Seamus was heartbroken when Viola broke up with him, but he got over it pretty quickly. He went on a dream date with one of his professors, but she doesn't want to be married to him either. I'm thinking of hooking him up with Analiese Riley, a CAS teen who will be going to college in a few days. She's currently a romance sim, but is really bad at it, so I'll probably switch her aspiration to fortune. I adore Seamus, and want him to be happy, even though he's a 'spare'.

Avri Shahan (sp?) - SS Freshman, Romance Sim

Avri is ugly, but all the ladies want him anyway. He's just that kind of guy. He has a thing going with one of his profs, and several other ladies. He went on a dream date with Marla before he pledged the house, and left her a ming vase on the porch! He and Komei Bennett were best friends, but he is furious with him and Marla now that they're engaged. Marla thinks he's being silly, since he dates other girls all the time. But that's a man for you. He's currently interested in an NPC named Esther Tse.

Robin (?) - Freshman (cheerleader), Romance Sim

Robin is the most annoying girl ever. I think I love her. I pledged her in because she was always coming over and cheering randomly, and I thought that she would stop. She didn't. She still cheers all the time. She's always in a good mood, never tired (apparently), has tons of skill points, and makes good grades seemingly without effort. She drives everyone in the house mad, especially Edwin, who has to room with her. She has pink little girl sheets and bought pink neon lights, so that the bathroom is always PINK. The oddest thing about Robin is that she has NO turn-ons or turn-offs. She's never interested in anyone or attempts to flirt. She is a completely asexual romance sim!

So, with Marla and Viola so close to graduation I need to figure out what their futures will hold, and find a couple of suitable replacements for the house. Marla is currently Tri-Llam president, but that will pass (for about half-a-semester) to Viola, and then to Edwin, even though he's a douche. I go by who has been in the house the longest. He only moved in in the first place because of his involvement with Sadie and Delilah, both of whom have graduated. I want to get in a couple of SS members, so that it will be easier for other house members to be initiated.

Nanny Rant

I played all day yesterday but nothing has really changed, b/c I had to quit without saving last time due to the nanny trying to carry a miserable Tristan off the lot.

You see, last time, the day after Tris became a toddler and I hadn't aged Nova yet, all four adults were going to be at work all day, and Komei Jr at school. I hired a nanny, as I've never had a problem with them before (I usually get Karen Gast, and she is wonderful).

This time I had Callista something-or-other and she has to be the worst nanny of all time. She only had two toddlers to take care of, but she wouldn't take Tris to the potty or put him to sleep in his crib - she kept taking him into the kitchen and giving him a bottle. She finally left him alone when he fell asleep SITTING UP in the kitchen (it was really cute, but geez!) for about TWO HOURS!!

Nova was pretty much able to take care of herself at this point, so I kept making her run away when the nanny tried to pick her up, but eventually she found herself in the nanny's clutches, forced to sit in the high chair when she wasn't even hungry. Then the damned teddy bear came out. I tell you, I am not buying teddy for my simkids anymore, no matter how cute it is, b/c all that ever happens is that the adults use it to 'talk through' to the kids and to each other. Then they put it down all over the house. I hate the fargin' thing, I tell you!!!!

So anyway, Tris is sleeping on the kitchen floor, Nova's having a tantrum in the chair, when finally Sadie comes home. She puts Tris to bed, lets Nova out (and she immediately runs to the potty) and attempts to dismiss the nanny. The &@!!@*^#! nanny stays around for at least another hour, using the bathroom, drinking espresso, and then GRABS TRIS OUT OF HIS CRIB (his energy bar is still red) and starts to head out the door!!! She is on the sidewalk when I finally quit without saving. When I played again, I had Dinah (Tristan's Grandma) retire so that she didn't have to go to work the next day. She won't ever be perma-platinum now, but I was not watching my babies be tortured again!

Anyway, couple of promotions - Sean's Assistant Coach, Justus is President, Sadie is Police Chief (I think). Nova is now a (butt-ugly) child - I gave her the huge ponytails and a black mask for her eyes - I think it balances her HUGE bug eyes and lack of an upper lip a bit. She really is unfortunate looking. I hope Komei Jr will love her anyway - he's no prize himself, since he's become a teenager. I had to cover him with facial hair to hide that chin and jawline.

Didn't play Uni, so Seamus and the crew haven't changed at all.

The Donovan Legacy - Close Encounters of the Viridian Kind

Wow. Where to begin. I had no idea when I started playing this morning that things would get so crazy.

Quick Recap. Sean and Dinah Donovan (6 days from elder) have two kids, Sadie (heir, adult, moved home after college) and Seamus (teen). Dinah fooled around with Komei Tellerman at the supermarket and had Komei Jr (toddler).

So. Not much happening with Sadie, she's attempting to get skills to move up a job level, and at the weekend will invite Justus Bar over and hopefully get to the lovin'. We'll move on.

Dinah went to the market, tried to make moves on Kristy Swanson. Uphill battle.

Sean has just been hanging out, attempting to get skill points and waiting for a promotion. He had 3 days off in the middle of the week, and Wednesday night, he decided to get some logic points. Late at night. On his mondo expensive telescope. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED!!!!

Yup. Alien Abduction. He was still 5 days from becoming an adult, so they impregnated his arse (literally =-O!). He is currently in his second day of pregnancy, and slobbing around in blue sweats.

I have given into my darling Seamus at last and sent him off to college. He is a popularity sim, and between his job and school never has time for friends. So now I have to play him through, too.

Komei Jr became a child, and is quite good looking, to my surprise. His mum's delicate features and green eyes, his dad's thin lips. I gave him Komei's Neandertal hair, too, but it suits him.

So, Sean, Dinah, Sadie, and Komei Jr are at home, and the baby is on its way. This house is far more crowded than I had ever planned, so I am going to do an alien legacy and move the new baby out. I just have to plan the rules. Any ideas?

Sadie - Home Again

Just a quick note to say that Sadie Donovan moved back home with her family after school, and got to know her little half-brother, Komei Jr, a bit. She got a job in the law enforcement track (she was a Biology major, and somehow that supports the law enforcement track) as a SWAT team leader at $875 a day, which is pretty good for a 'new' adult! She hasn't started on her lovelife yet, but plans on inviting Justus over at the first opportunity ;-).

Unpredictable Affairs of the Heart

Please ignore the precipitate family tree in the last post - it looks as though the engagement between Sadie Donovan and Edwin Sharpe will NOT take place (gasp!).

After work yesterday, I played again. I wanted to graduate Sadie while I had the computer, so that Lew wouldn't have a chance to crash the computer before I could graduate her, like every other time I've tried to get a Sim through school. So, she graduated Summa Cum Laude (snicker) in Biology. Hosted a fabby-fab graduation party (everyone was still rarin' to go after the toga party two nights before - the house is big, and has a bubble blower, keg and love tub, so I just add a buffet for parties and we're good to go), and invited Sadie's dad Sean (who was very excited about Sadie's college career) and an old friend from the dorm, a blue-haired kid in hockey clothes named Justus (last name?). She jumped into her cap and gown, and there was Justus, in his! She was so excited and sentimental, she leapt right into his arms. All of their hard work had paid off, and they were graduating together! She just felt a huge rush of affection for her old friend (it was a great pic too).

Ed was right behind her however, and apparently considered this CHEATING on him. What a spaz! He was going to slap them both, but I didn't want the party ruined so I cancelled actions. He has a -65 with Justus, whom he'd never met, and -11/99 with Sadie, the girl he was supposed to marry. Her own grad party, and he was acting like a total tool.

She tried to make it up to him, but Ed barely let her touch him, so he ignored his whiny ass and went back to her party. They had a great time, but it was a bit spoiled for her because of Edwin's temper tantrum. OVER A HUG! Come on Maxis (see, I know it's not really Ed's fault. But I just can't stand a whiny 'man')!

Anyway, so I had Sadie move back in with her folks, as was always the plan, and though I haven't played it yet, I was GOING to invite Ed over and make things up to him, but you know what? No. He's an ass, and he will have to drop out of school to marry her, as I'm not playing him through (he's only a soph now). Justus is just as cute (ha ha - 'Justus cute') and a college graduate, so you know what? I think that Sadie's going to give him a call, and see what happens ;-). She's always had a bit of a crush on him, anyway!

In other news, Marla Gibbs has gotten rather fit, and was seen at the toga party in a blue and white cheerleader uniform. Komei Bennett, an SS invitee, had a bit of a tent in his toga ;-0!

Donovan Legacy - the College years

Been playing Sims all weekend. I have (with the help of my husband) more or less made it a rule to not play during the week, unless I have a rare day off. If I hadn't, I'd never go to work! No cheat codes in real life, either :-(.

So much has happened, as I played for a total of about 11 (real life) hours. Sad, isn't it? Anyway, lets start.

Sadie: As soon as she became an overachiever (in a new career track - I switched her from culinary to law enforcement - she got promoted the first day), I shipped her boring little arse off to college. Academie Le Tour is the only college I ever play - not sure why. I guess b/c it's small and I know where everything is. Anyway, that's the one connected to my custom town, Farlaink. I always play the same dorm, too, the one w/ 6 rooms. It's kind of nice b/c with each Sim I play there, I add nicer stuff to the room and the dorm. (My Sims always live in the same room, which is the only fixed up one).

Anyway, back to Sadie. New hair and clothes (of course), cell phone and Mp3 player, which I quite hate b/c all she ever autonomously does is stand around and listen to the damned thing, and of course she can't do anything else while she's listening.

She's got a 4.0, but never does her term papers b/c I have finally started making use of the influence points. I never used to, but wow, does it make a difference! It makes college MUCH more fun, for you and your Sim.

Started out as a knowledge Sim, but I switched her to fortune b/c I think it will suit her better. She is a member of the Secret Society (I was so flippin' excited!), and second term of her junior year, started a Greek House. I had to use some cheat money for this, so they could have a decent-sized house. I have no qualms about cheat money, because I am too impatient to wait for the little buggers to earn it honestly. Seriously, though, I don't overdo it. I always leave them wanting, a bit. Otherwise it's too easy.

I also moved in Marla Gibbs, a Maxis Sim who is a fat, shy Freshman. I made her over, but she still doesn't want to exercise. I don't care, really - she's still fabulous! I plan on getting her in the secret society and doing the plastic surgery on her face at some point, b/c even when you trim her up (I've done it before) her face is still pudgy and mannish.

Other frat members are Viola something or other, a SS member; Edwin Sharpe, who is fat, but has potential - He's going to marry Sadie; his sister, Roxie?; and I think someone else. Only Sadie, Marla, Viola and Edwin live at the house though.

Sadie has just started her senior year - this will be the first Sim of mine to actually graduate college! All my other Sims have been (unintentionally) deleted by my husband before they can make it. If he does this time, I may have to divorce him ;-). She and Edwin woo-hooed in the love tub - she still hasn't had her first kiss! She just doesn't take after her mum AT ALL.

Back at the old homestead, Seamus is a teenager. He helps with his little half-brother, a toddler whom I've named Komei Jr. so that I don't forget that he's a love child with Komei Tellerman (Incidentally, Sadie has an SS friend called Komei Bennett). Sean doesn't seem to care, though he has no memory of welcoming the baby to the family. I don't think, technically, they ARE family, although he's raising him as his own and they live in the same house.

Anyway, Seamus is doing well in the culinary track, and is a pretty happy popularity Sim. He wants to go to college, STILL, but I'm not sending him. That's just a life dream that isn't going to happen for him, sadly. I have to focus on my heir, you know. He's just a spare. I keep telling myself that. I'm not going to do any romance interactions with him at all either, unless he 'wants' one. I don't want to figure out his sexuality for him, the way I have to do with my heir. I just hope that he doesn't want children!

Dinah is just Dinah. Now that Komei Jr is a toddler, I have to go find her more Sims to bang, as she is a lonely romance Sim right now. Komei came over once while Sean was at work, and enjoyed holding his baby son.

Sean is still doing well at work (he maxed out on body points), but it will help everyone when Sadie comes home from college, as she has about a million friends. I think it's easier to make friends there. Go to a community lot, meet a Sim, chat until 15, hang out until friends. No problem!

Donovan Update

Sadie's still a teen. She sucks at her job, hasn't had (and has no desire for) a first kiss, has no friends to speak of, and isn't in private school. All of her wants are boring - ie, good grades, overachiever, go to college, etc. I quite hate her, she's so dull. She went out with George McCarthy but nothing came of it.

Seamus, her little brother, just became a teen this morning. I made him a popularity sim, as he's so nice and outgoing. He'd be a great family sim, but I don't want him to have a family, as he's not the heir (though I wish he was, he's such a sweetie). I gave him a goth makeover that looks terrible - it just doesn't suit him. I'll fix it the next time I play.

He really wants to go to college, and I had decided not to send him. Now I'm not sure. He really deserves to go, but I don't feel like putting them both through. I think that he'll just have to stay home.

I built a poolhouse today, it will be used as an extra room once Sadie gets married and has babies. It will be tight, but I think that 8 people will be able to live in the house as it is (It's the Craftsman house, but it has a 4X6 poolhouse and a 3X9 attic).

Dinah cheated on Sean with Komei Tellerman - he may have knocked her up! We'll have to wait and see. They woo-hoo'd in the rooftop hot tub at the market. It was gross. He's a red-head, but I think he's an S2 with Green eyes, so Sean will be able to tell the baby isn't his, if he's not too busy doing yoga. That's all he does anymore. He's been promoted to All-Star.

Donovan Family update

I haven't been writing. I've been playing The Sims2. So if you're here to read my fanfiction, go to www.fanfiction.net and search for Daisy Pennifold. The following is a boring (except to me) update on my Sim legacy family.

Played Sims all morning. Sadie (the legacy heir - from her loins will spring the future generations of this family) is now a teenager, and thankfully not nearly as ugly as when she was a kid. She's rather pretty, actually. Unfortunately, she has hardly any personality at all. I've made her a knowledge sim for now, so as to make it easier to get her through college, but I plan on changing her (you can do that) at Junior year. Into what, I don't know. She's not neat or nice enough to be a family sim, which is what I had planned. I'll probably make her a fortune sim, like her da'.

Seamus, the 'spare' child (gosh that's a horrible way to describe him!) is boning up on his cooking skills - I plan on putting him in the culinary career, and he won't have to go to college. It takes long enough to do one kid, let alone two. So he'll be uneducated and have to work his way up, but he'll get over it.

The parents are still annoying - the mom (Dinah) got food poisoning AGAIN so is barfing all the time - I make her go to work anyway so she can eat and actually keep the food down. The last time she got it, she was knocked up with Seamus, so she barfed CONSTANTLY - this time isn't as bad. She's plugging along in her slacker career track. her lifetime want is to reach the top level, but she doesn't get promoted very quickly. Goes along with the territory, I guess.

The dad (Sean) is doing really well in his athlete career choice - his lifetime goal is to reach the top of the track, and I think he may actually do it. I've put in a pool so that it's easier to get body points.

I'm going to use part of this page for fanfiction (eventually), but right now I'm going to be chronicling my umpteenth attempt at a legacy family on the Sims 2, called the Donovans. This doesn't go along with the official legacy rules. I made my own rules.

1. I am attempting to have 10 generations, using primogeniture (firstborn of every generation is heir or heiress).

2. At least 2 children must be born to each generation.

3. All living family members must live together in the legacy house. (This will usually prevent the 'spare' child from marrying, and give plenty of adult influence for the children.

4. All heirs or heiresses must graduate from college. 'Spares' are not required to do so.

To start the family, I created Sean (fortune) and Dinah (romance) Donovan [of Irish descent ;-)]. They both have red hair, green eyes, and fair (S1) skin. I wanted their children to have homogeneous genes. They started off with a toddler, Sadie (Gen2 heir), and in the game gave birth to a son, Seamus.

At this point, Seamus just became a child, and Sadie is about to become a teenager. I plan to give her a family aspiration, and (hopefully) attain a career in the culinary track. The career choice largely depends on her lifetime want.

I've drawn a family tree - I really want to get beyond the third generation, but this largely depends on whether or not Lewis erases my game again (for the third time!). I really need to get my own computer. I work on his (my husband's) Mac, so I don't get to play very often and I have to wait months and months for expansion packs, etc. It sucks.
